This scenic ride that departs from the Los Alamos County
Park takes you through the valleys of
northern Santa Barbara County. You’ll see lush vineyards and
ranches while cycling on country roads.
You can choose from a full century, a metric century, or a
40-mile ride.
Included in the Club’s $45 fee are rest stops, lunch, full SAG
support, a way cool water
bottle, AND a Santa Maria style all-you can eat BBQ at the
finish.
The proceeds from this ride go to bicycles and gear for children
at local schools through our
bike give-away contest.
Enjoy a cool morning bike ride through scenic
canyons, vineyards, and rangelands that have moderately challenging
hills. You can choose between the 100-mille ride, the 62-mile ride, or
the 40-mile ride. The Windmill rides all start and finish at Los Alamos
County Park.
The century ride and the metric ride
traverse Alisos Canyon and go past the famous twin windmills, to the Santa Maria Valley with a stop for lunch at Pioneer
Park. The metric route then follows Hwy 135 on its return to Los Alamos.
The century route leaves Pioneer Park, tours West Santa Maria Valley,
and heads for the Casmalia hills for a 1-mile 6% climb and a 3-mile
descent, followed by a refreshing rest stop. On returning to the Santa
Maria Valley, the century ride rejoins the metric route. Usually both
rides head back to Los Alamos County Park with a moderate tailwind.
After the ride you will be treated
to an all-you-can-eat delicious Santa Maria Style top sirloin or chicken
BBQ. Vegetarian is available. Extra BBQ dinners are $7.00 each. The
Metric route will have a rest stop in the quaint town of Sisquoc and a lunch
stop at Pioneer Park in Santa Maria. The Century route will have three
rest stops: Sisquoc, Guadalupe, and Casmalia and a lunch stop at
Pioneer
Park.

With limited lodging available in Los Alamos, we
suggest Santa Maria to the North or Buellton or Solvang to the South
offering motels and commercial campgrounds. Lodging is closer and better
to the South.
