The Tailwinds Bicycle Club was formed in 1982 by founders, Ron Holt, and Doug Palmer. The Tailwinds Bicycle Club is a 501(c)(7) non-profit organization.

The Tailwinds sponsor two major rides each year, the Windmill Century in July, and the invitational,  Holiday Halves in November.

COME RIDE WITH US

We have Club rides almost every day of the week, except Monday & Friday. There are rides for every fitness level, from social to hard training.

OUR MEETINGS

The Club meets the second Tuesday of each month, usually at the Edwards Center at 809 Panther Drive. The meetings start at 7:30 PM unless otherwise noted.

The Benefits of Being a Tailwinds Member

1.  Regular rides for all levels of riders. You'll improve your fitness, learn about cycling, and share the joys of riding with others.

2.  Special Annual Rides That Include The Following:

  • Ragged Point Ride - March

  • Windmill Century - July

  • 85-Mile Choo Choo Special to Santa Barbara - September

  • Holiday Halves Ride - November

3. Information about bicycles and bicycling through our monthly newsletter and meetings, on the road, and at our food stops.

4. Bike shop discounts, 10% on most stock items at our participating bike shops. See Participating Bike Shop List on Home Page.

5. Tailwinds Bicycle Club jersey and T-Shirt discounts to members.

6. The opportunity to present united and effective lobbying on issues concerning cyclists, especially at the local level.
