| Bob Becktel brought in four perfect photos of Bob and Larry’s enjoyable brisk ride to the historical Pozo Saloon. Getting started at 9:10am January 25th from the trailhead North of Lopez off High Mountain Road to their destination, Pozo, a boom town started in the 1800’s. The first 4 miles of oak forests were uphill, starting with rolling hills and progressing to steep mountain climbs, corresponding steep down hills. and several streams and puddle crossings. Lunch was great at the Pozo Saloon which is a quaint, historical landmark dating from 1880 or so. Only other people around were 4 or 5 dirt “bike” motorcyclists eating lunch also. And then it was back to the car by 2pm. |
